I'm Credit Card Debt Free!!!

Do I get to call Dave Ramsey? Haha, probably not yet but I have just paid off the full balance of my credit card. Goodbye $15 minimum payments. Goodbye 24.9% interest. I'm not going to close the card as it's my only credit card and only has a $500 limit on it. Hopefully they will enventually lower my rate and I can use the card responsibily to help bring up my credit score. That way in a few years if the fiance and I decide to buy a new place we can have both of our names on the mortgage.

I also paid the balance of my Overdue Utilities today so if you notice the sidebars I am currently free of all "short term debt" except for the "Boyfriend Debt." I plan on enjoying that picture for a few hours until I add new categories to it that I plan on snowballing.

Nice work -- those progress bars look so beautiful with all your progress!

That is totally cool!

As soon as we get one of our cards paid off we are going to use it for groceries and gas that we budget for every month. When we use the card we will deduct that amount from our checkbook. When its time to pay the card we will "add" that back in to our checkbook and pay the bill. If we had a second checking account I would just put the money there and pay from that account. Something to look in to later on. :)

hell yeah girl, GOOD FOR YOU!!!! and i agree with leaving it open and stuff. wouldn't hurt throwing an item on it every now and then too, and then paying it off within the free 30 days to keep it active and all.

HOORAY!

That's a Great Accomplishment. Thanks for the encouragement. I'm working on my debt.

Soon you'll be able to call Dave Ramsey and yell, "I'm Debt-Free." That's my prayer.

Awesome! I am glad you were able to pay off your debts and your overdue utility bills. Setting a goal to increase your credit score in order to use it for a future loan application is ideal and realistic. Good luck!

You may have fallen on a financial hole, but through sheer will and determination, you were able to get out of it. Setting priorities is the key to budgeting, and spending on important things only rather than doodads greatly increases your chance to save up.
