Got My State Tax Refund!

I'm back from a week-long mini crisis with my husband-to-be's family and $141 richer due to the great State of New York depositing my tax refund. I had a very stressful week and I'm very glad to be back home and getting things back to normal.

Stress has followed me home, however, in the realm of still waiting on news about my employment, not having the time and motivation to move out of my apartment that I'm still paying an arm and a leg for, and wanting to plan just one tiny thing for the wedding without people telling me that I am "jumping the gun."

From what I have seen so far, long engagements are awesome finance-wise but they also suck!

I will post news of what I will be doing with my extra tax money as soon as I figure it out myself.

Thank heavens for timely tax refunds. But, c'mon Sallie! You can't tease us about a mini crisis without telling us about it! (Just kidding.) Good luck on the job front. Hope all remains well.

The crisis ate a week of my life but in the end everything is mostly cool now.

Seems to me like that refund would be enough to totally get rid of either your credit card debt or your utilities...

As much as it is probably tempting to spread it out to a whole bunch of little things, how great would it feel to completely eliminate one of your debts???

(and if you paid either of these, you could use the few extra bucks you had left to buy a nice, celebratory cocktail!)

Knowing that you have some tax refund surely wiped away your stress. And because refunds come unexpectedly on most times, we are highly susceptible on spending it on useless things. I hope you didn't fall into that. Anyway, it's been four years now and I'm sure that money is already history. Thanks for sharing!

Surely, Winston! Refund can be a stress-reliever. Anyway, since you're happily married now, have you discussed already what kind of arrangement you're gonna do in regards with paying your taxes? I wish you had so that it won't create any complication.
