Getting money for doing nothing is not a good thing nor does it help you. Other people have to work to pay more of their own money in taxes to fund these programs.

While the people like Anny are just thrilled to be 'making' more off their unemployment check, other people have to work harder. Eventually these people will get tired of all their effort amounting to nothing they can retain. I'll attach a quote that might provide insight on this.

-----------------------------------

You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.

Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1931-2005Jim ~ mydebtblog.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12831157334066115572noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1233623794741521754.post-63737641246053665842009-03-11T16:16:00.000-04:002009-03-11T16:16:00.000-04:00I got laid off last month - its not bad at all!
